Joann Ruth (Welch) Hackenson, 91, of Malden, formerly of Brockton and West Bridgewater passed away on December 22, 2023 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere, MA.

Born March 16, 1932 in Brockton, MA she was the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Ruth D. (MacCormack) Welch.

She was a graduate of the former Howard High School in West Bridgewater and worked as a dietary aide at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Brown of Malden and her partner, Denise Crocker; two granddaughters, Julie DaSilva and husband Fabricio of Revere and Sharon Fosbury and husband Eric of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Daniel, David, DaVina and DaLina DaSilva of Revere and Eva Fosbury of North Carolina. As well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28th at 12:00PM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main Street,(Rt.28) West Bridgewater. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00AM to 12:00PM.
