Joanne E. Shea

Joanne Elizabeth (Noone) Shea, a lifelong resident of Brockton, and lovingly referred to as Jojo passed away peacefully after a long fight with cancer on Monday August 24th, 2026, at the age of 57. Born in Stoughton, MA on December 29th, 1968, her and her twin sister Julie were the last two children born to Jean Noone (Brockton) and Edward Noone (deceased). Joanne was the beloved wife of William Shea (Brockton). They had recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on June 3rd. Joanne was the cherished mother of Nicholas Shea (Brockton) and Jean Shea (Brockton). She was also the best grandmother to Stella and Cairo. Joanne was also one of nine siblings including Edward Noone (Brockton), Patti Noone (Brockton), David Noone (Rockland), Debbie Dibiasio (Bridgewater), Jack Noone (Bridgewater), Steven Noone (Brockton), Julie Anderson (Brockton), and Jimmy Noone (deceased).

Joanne grew up through the Brockton Public Schools system and she graduated from Brockton High School in 1986. After spending several years as a stay at home mom, Joanne went back to work as a paraprofessional working with preschool children with varying levels of disability. She was immensely dedicated to her work and put in the time and effort to not only get to know her students, but to provide them with a safe space to be themselves. Joanne would frequently be called on to aid in several situations including but not limited to deescalating any less desired behaviors, assisting in difficult transitions, and directing the buses on where to go. All of this goes to show how respected she was in her profession as she was trusted with those sensitive situations.

Prior to her diagnosis in January, she was often found floating in the pool at her mother’s house in the summers. Joanne would also find as much time as she could to spend with her grandkids and family. She was aways known for having a smile on her face and could always be found cracking a joke. She loved getting comfortable at the end of a workday, throwing on a sweatshirt, hanging out on the couch with her dog Tripp, and maybe taking a nap. Joanne was a huge supporter of everybody whether that be her husband, children, siblings, friends, or just anyone who needed it. She was truly one of a kind and her presence will be truly missed.

Visiting hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home at 138 Belmont St. in Brockton, MA 02301 on Saturday August 29th from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM immediately followed by brief services at 4:00 PM.
