Joao "Chale" Baptista Nunes Joao "Chale" Baptista Nunes , 76, of Brockton died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at West Acres Nursing Home. Born January 28, 1933 in Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Augusto Nunes and Ledo DePina. Chale enjoyed playing cards and loved his family. He is survived by his children, Fatima, Silvina and Elisabete Nunes; his grandchildren, Andrea, Saulo and Flavio DePina and Khalia Nunes; his siblings, Djony, Eduino, Nita and Gininha Nunes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gil and Bertha Nunes. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte 123), Brockton on Friday, Sept. 25th at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 10:30AM.
