Born February 21, 1961 in Brava, Cape Verde, he was a son of the late Alberto Gomes and Antonia Rodrigues. He worked as a frame maker for Serta Mattress Company in Middleboro. Joaquim enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and playing cards. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Maria (Fortes) Gomes; his children, Jack Anthony Gomes and step-daughter, Sandra Fortes; his siblings, Bazaliza Santos, Johana Goncalves, Adelina Rodrigues, Marlene Rodrigues, Marlete Rodrigues, Nancy Tagger, Antonio Gomes and Elizabeth Gomes; and his stepmother, Domingas Gomes. He was the brother of the late Alice Rodrigues. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 10th at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/ St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM.
