Obituary
Joaquim J. Fortes, 83, of Brockton, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde on May 30, 1936 he was the son Joao Mendes Fortes and Eufrizina (Mendes) Fortes.
Joaquim loved fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children Joao G. Fortes, Jose Garcia and Maria D. Fortes; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings Victoria Neves, Joao B. Fortes, Maria Neves, Paulo Fortes, Pedro Fortes, Maria F. Haven and Berto Fortes.
Funeral services are private.
