John C. Adams, Jr., 84, of West Bridgewater and longtime resident of Brockton passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elaine M. (Ventura) Adams.

Born October 25, 1938 in Gloucester, MA he was the son of the late John C. Sr. and Minni M. (Amaral) Adams.

John worked as a maintenance mechanic for the U.S. Postal service and retired after many years. He was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard, 101st Infantry, 26 Yankee Division C. Company and served as platoon Sergeant from 1955 to 1962, retiring as Tech Sergeant, former president of the Motor Vehicle Craft, and Union Steward from 1978 through 1986. John served as treasurer for the Massasoit Amateur Radio Association and Civil Defense Radio operator for the town of Bridgewater. He also served as a member of the services Relations Committee form 1985 through 1991 and was former president for 10 years of the Bertocci Club in Brockton.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; John N. Adams of San Francisco and Cindilee Minks and husband Robert of Fall River; Four grandchildren, Angelene Botelho, Caroline Viverios and husband Jonathan, Caitlin Tripp and husband Arthur and Donovin Minks; great granddaughter, Emma Viverios; brother in law, Julius Ventura, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Halifax; Best friend Robert Nagle and wife Elizabeth and close family friends, Steve and Tom Carrigan. As well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Abigail Farrell and her husband Rick.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8th at 11:00AM in the Russell & Pica funeral home, 441 So. Main St.,(Rt.28) West Bridgewater. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Wednesday, December 7th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
