Chimbur, of Brockton, August 17, 2002, John Chimbur, 78 years. Beloved husband of the late June E. (Landry) Chimbur. Loving father of Wayne A. Chimbur and his wife Diane of Brockton; Patricia A. Cantelli and her husband Edmund of Florida; June M. Martin and her husband Anthony; Toni J. Derouen and her husband David all of Brockton and the late John M. Chimbur.

Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday at 11am. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8pm. Donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Ter. Stoughton, MA 02072.

Obituary Information

Mr. Chimbur died Saturday at the Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. Born and raised in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Dubitski) Chimbur. He was a graduate of Bridgewater High School. A veteran of WWII, he served in the US Army. For many years he had been employed as an edge trimmer for George E. Keith shoe manufacturing company in Bridgewater. He enjoyed fishing, clamming, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Club National.

He is survived by his son Wayne A. Chimbur of Brockton and three daughters Patricia A. Cantelli of Florida, June M. Martin and Toni J. Derouen of Brockton, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, three sisters Mary Sposini of Bridgewater, Sophie Glodines of Brockton, and Stacia Flammia of Plymouth. He was the husband of the late June E. (Landry) Chimbur, father of the late John M. Chimbur and brother of the late Michael Chimbur.
