Obituary

John M. Gianunzio age 95 of Brockton died Saturday October 1, 2011 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in East Bridgewater after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of the late Angie (Sgro) Gianunzio for 56 years. John was born in Ontario, Canada a son of the late Bernadino and Anna (Concess) Gianunzio and moved to Brockton with them as a young boy.
During WW II John served in the US Navy. He retired as a union carpenter in Brockton and in his retirement continued to work small jobs. John loved gardening at his home and most importantly time spent with his family.
John is survived by two sons Robert J. Gianunzio of Middleboro and John M. Gianunzio, Jr. of Florida. He leaves two grandchildren Nicole M. and Robert J. Gianunzio, Jr. both of Middleboro and was the brother of Arthur Gianunzio of Brockton, Annie Gable of Cape Cod and the late Paris “Pat” Gianunzio, Jim Gianunzio, Nellie Vacca, Doreen Dehay and Sophie Kavanaugh. John also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 5-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
