Obituary

John H. Harper, age 66, of Brockton died Saturday May 21, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Patrice (Devine) Harper. He was born in Brockton, a son of the late George and Alice (Dunkerley) Harper and was a life long resident of the city. A 1962 graduate of Brockton High School, John served in the Mass National Guard. For many years he had worked at Sprague Energy Corp. in Quincy. John was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing especially caricatures. John treasured all of his time spent with family and his grandchildren.

He was the devoted father of Amy Flynn and her husband Kevin of Natick and the late Sarah Beth Harper. He leaves his cherished grandchildren Connor John, Nolan Matthew and Allyson Sarah Flynn. He is the brother of James Harper of Martha’s Vineyard and the late Edward Harper. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 4-8pm. Procession will gather from the funeral home Thursday at 9:30am for funeral mass at 10:30am in Holy Ghost Church , 49 School Street St., Whitman, MA. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
