Martin of Brockton May 27, 2003 John J. Martin 93 years. Brother of Joseph C. Martin of Florida and the late Mary C. Dugan and Francis Martin. Uncle of Susan Dugan of Easton; Barbara Wilbur of Lakeville and Rosemary O’Neill of Raynham. Brother-in-law of Philomena Martin of Brockton.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 pm.

Obituary

Mr. Martin died Tuesday morning at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Brockton son of the late Patrick and Bridget (Smith) Martin and remained a lifelong resident of the city.

He retired from the Post Office in Brockton and previously worked at the A&P Supermarket for many years.During WW II Mr. Martin served in the US Army.

Mr. Martin was the oldest living member of the Bertocci Club in Brockton.For over 60 years Mr. Martin wintered in Hialeah, Florida where he and his friends enjoyed dog racing. He was an avid Red Sox fan.

In addition to the above mentioned survivors he leaves 2 great nieces, a great nephew and a sister-in-law Philomena Martin
