John W. “Jack” O’Connor, age 67, of Stoughton, formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly on May 5, 2022 at Good Samaritan Medical Center, following a period of failing health. Jack was born and raised in Brockton, son of the late William E. and Grace T. (Connolly) O’Connor. Jack was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School. During his years at Spellman he was a member of the football, hockey and baseball teams. Following his graduation he attended Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Jack was a skilled carpenter and worked for various companies in the area. He was an adventurous and avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed fishing and camping. He also took joy in cooking, listening to music, and spending time with his family, especially his daughters.
Jack was the father of Caroline Ciulla of Taunton and Grace Perfetto of Texas and the grandfather of Stara, Gemma, Calleigh, Mason, Dean and Melody. He was the brother of Patricia Hager and her husband James of Middleboro, William E. O’Connor, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Dedham and the late Jean McGrath. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and brother in law Kevin McGrath.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday May 12, from 4-6:30pm, followed by a prayer service at 6:30pm. Please consider donations in Jack’s name to the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, PO Box 301, Garrison, NY 10524.
