He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Lucier) Jantomaso and the much loved father to daughter, Jaye Keddy of Colebrook, NH and Joni Desjarlais of Bridgewater. Other survivors include son-in-laws, Peter Keddy and Michael Desjarlais. He also leaves 4 grandchildren, Lauren Norton, Cara Desjarlais, Ryan Oleson and Michael Keddy and 2 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Lucille LaFranchise and Philomena Jantomaso. He was the son of the late Matteo Jantomaso and Nice (Urbani) Jantomaso. John was a trustee and co-president of the Michael Campanelli Scholarship Foundation. He and his committee ran a M.C.S.F. Golf Tournament for 32 consecutive years. This enabled the organization to raise sufficient funds for many scholarships.
