John J. "Jack" Kelleher
, 78, of Bridgewater died Monday, September 17, 2007 at his home after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born April 7, 1929 in Brockton, he was the son of the late James Kelleher and Margaret (Lyons) Kelleher. He was a United States Army veteran and served in Japan during World War II. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the first graduation class of Stonehill College. He was the first elected class president of the college in his junior year and a member of the committee that designed the first class ring for the college. Jack received his Masters Degree in English Literature from Boston College and his PHD from the University of Pittsburgh. He retired as a professor of English Literature from Eastern Illinois University.
He enjoyed watching the Celtics, Red Sox, his family, and reading.
He is survived by his son, Sean Kelleher of Oak Hill, Virginia; his siblings, James Kelleher and his wife Jean of Brockton, Nancy Connors of Connecticut, Richard Kelleher of Bridgewater; his niece, Kerri MacDonald of Connecticut. He was also father of the late Paul Kelleher.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jack's life will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday, Sept. 20th at 6:00PM. Calling hours have been omitted.
