Online Obituaries John Joseph Maloney, Sr., 88, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anita J. (Martignetti) Maloney. Born April 16, 1928 in Boston, he was the son of the late Martin and Susan (Meaney) Maloney. John was raised and educated in Boston. Attending the Boston Trade School and graduating from Northeastern University. He was employed as an engineer for several companies including Siemens, Barry Controls, Inc. of Watertown, Honeywell, Raytheon, and Holmed Corp. He was a member of the Naval Reserves for eight years, American Legion Post 22 Whitman and the Knights of Columbus. John was also a communicant of St. Edith Stein Parish in Brockton. He was a coach for the Brookfield Little League and enjoyed all sports, especially golf. In addition to his wife Anita, he is survived by his children, Susan Randall and her husband Peter of Middleborough; Patricia Thompson and her husband David of Springfield; Anita Louise Maloney of San Diego, Ca; John J. Maloney and his wife Paula of Brockton; Michael Maloney and his wife Orawan of Middleborough and Stephen Maloney and his wife Robbin of Halifax. He was the brother of the late Detective Sargent Patrick J. (Jim) Maloney and his wife Constance who resides in Randolph. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kelly Acosta, Meghan Lebow, John J. Maloney, III, Brendan Dubuc, Eilish Thompson, Brian Thompson, Laura Corr, Erin Maloney, and Carmina Maloney; his great grandchildren, Alicia Acosta, Fabian Acosta, P.J. Acosta, Zachary Corr, Lilliana Corr, and Annalyne Maloney, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Information A funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul on Saturday, October 15th in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) WEST BRIDGEWATER on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm.
