McIntyre of W. Bridgewater formerly of Brockton January 24, 2007, John “Scottie” McIntyre 74 years, beloved husband of Mary (Paul) McIntyre. Brother of Neeley Dockerty of Greenook, Scotland.
Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 10:30 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6 pm.
Obituary
John McIntyre, 74 years died Wednesday at the New England Medical Center in Boston. He was born, raised and educated in Scotland, the son of the late John and Jesse (Lambert) McIntyre. Following school John served in the Scottish Army, before marrying his wife Mary of 54 years in Edinburgh in Scotland. In 1963 Mr. & Mrs. McIntyre arrived in the United States settling in Brockton until 1991 when moving to West Bridgewater when their Brockton home burned to the ground. He had been employed for 17 years for the former Randy Shoe Company until its closing. John then went to work for the International Equipment Company in Needham working for 13 years, retiring in 1993. He was a Member of the Enterprise Club in Brockton. Mr. McIntyre was known to be a funny, stubborn and feisty gentleman who enjoyed playing cards and the local horse and dog races.
