John S. Monteiro, 78, of Brockton, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Rita C. (Madeira) Monteiro. Born in Fogo, Cape Verde on July 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Miguel and Natercia A. (Henriques) Monteiro. In addition to his wife Rita, John is survived by his children Janice Santos, Natercia Monteiro, Victor Monteiro, Antonia Monteiro and John Jose Ribeiro; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 9th at 10:00AM in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Tuesday from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
