John Joseph Mulcahy
, 91, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Rachele (Harakles) Mulcahy.
Born January 14, 1922 in Taunton, MA he was the son of the late Howard A. Sr. and Cecelia C. (Reilly) Mulcahy.
He was raised in Taunton and educated in St. Mary's School and graduated from Monsignor James Coyle High School. He served his country during WWII from 1942-1946 as a torpedo man aboard the U.S.S. Stockton. John worked as a dispatcher for Warren Hall Trucking, First National and Farar Trucking. He enjoyed golfing and in his later years worked at the Easton Country Club.
He is survived by his siblings, Edmund (Ted) and his wife Delores of Dighton, Cecelia of Taunton and Elizabeth (Betty) of Tampa, FL. He was predeceased by brothers, Howard, Jr., Dick, Jim and Frank, as well as his sisters, Kay (Gagnon) and Margie (Boiros).
Funeral Information
A funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 10:00AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 19 Kilmer Ave., Taunton, MA 02780. Private interment will be held in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Calling hours omitted.
