Obituary

John “Jack” D. Spillane, 69, passed away early Sunday morning, February 4, 2024.

A lifelong Brockton resident, Jack enlisted in the United States Army as a medic before settling into his career at Fernald State School as a mental health worker.

Jack was a man of many passions, hobbies and interests but above all he enjoyed his privacy; he would not approve of a comprehensive obituary divulging all his accolades and leisure pursuits. He preferred to keep his circle small. But those he deemed friends will remember the fiercely loyal, authentic and caring man he was. He especially took great pride in being a father.

Son of the late Corneilus A. Spillane and Mary E. (Costigan) Spillane, Jack is survived by his daughter Hannah Spillane of Brockton; his lifelong friend Micheal Kelleher of Brockton and Theresa Kennedy of Brockton.

Following Jack’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
