IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John
Tarantino
November 13, 1943 – October 25, 2022
It is with profound sadness but enduring gratitude for his life that the family of John Tarantino announces his passing on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Born on November 13, 1943, he was the son of the late John Tarantino and Eileen (Wall) Tarantino. John grew up in Brockton, graduating from Brockton High School in 1961. John attended Massasoit Community College, Northeastern University and graduated from Stonehill College with a BA in accounting in 1979.
John was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army from 1964-1967 where he was honorably discharged.
Those who knew John even casually regarded him as a kind, generous and humble man. To his loving and beloved family, he was a gentle giant of strength and goodness who always put family first.
John enjoyed golf, traveling and earned black belts in Karate, Kung Fu and Tai Chi. On Sundays he loved to read the Boston Globe, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
At the time of his death, John lived with his partner of 22 years, Maureen Ladd in Middleboro.
His deeply bereaved family includes his son Jay Tarantino and his spouse Ame Keung Tarantino; his daughter Gina Tarantino and her life partner Charles Hampton and their son Anyge Tarantino-Hampton; and his son Jesse Tarantino and his partner Eddy Fleming; his sister Gloria Stanbrook; his brother Wally Tarantino and his wife Maureen; his nieces and nephews Danny Kelly (Maryanne), Walter Tarantino, Patricia Tarantino, Anne Tarantino (Tanya) and Richard Tarantino (Kathleen Boyle).
The family deeply appreciates thoughts and prayers and requests that in lieu of flowers, considering a donation in John's name to the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund.
