John G. Thomas John George Thomas, 88, of Altamonte Springs, Florida and formerly of Brockton, died suddenly on Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida after complications from a fall. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Monsini) Thomas. Born February 24, 1921 in Brockton, he was the son of the late George Thomas and Annie (Malik) Thomas. Raised in Brockton, John Graduated from Brockton High School in 1939 he then attended Boston Trade School. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. He worked at the Boston Naval Shipyard as an electronics technician for 17 years. He worked for the Brockton Post Office until his retirement in 1984. Shortly after retirement he and his wife Mary moved to Nalcrest, Florida where he resided until moving to Altamonte Springs in 2003. He was a member of the Blue Eagle Social Club in Brockton. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He loved dancing, bowling, playing cards and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his son, John G. Thomas , Jr. and his girlfriend Helen Docherty, of Altamonte Springs, Florida; his daughter, Victoria A. Kelley and her husband Leo of Kingston; four beloved grandsons, Christopher, Gregory, Matthew, and Patrick Kelley; his siblings, Alfred Thomas of Bridgewater, Joseph Thomas and his wife Ann, George Thomas and his wife Sheila all of East Bridgewater, Nellie Asack and her husband George of North Falmouth, and Marion Martelli and her husband Bruno of Bridgewater; he is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the brother of the late Saad and Michael Thomas and Lillian Robishaw. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, December 10th at 8:00AM thence to Christ the King Parish, 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM.
