IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jorge "Georgie"
Aquino
December 14, 1976 – March 18, 2025
Jorge Aquino
December 14, 1976 – March 18, 2025
Jorge Aquino, 48, of Brockton, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico on December 14, 1976, Jorge was raised in Brockton, where he became a proud and well-known representative of the city through his passion for sports, his career accomplishments, and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
A 1995 graduate of Brockton High School, Jorge made his mark early in both baseball and track & field. He was a standout athlete from a young age, winning his first Little League City Championship in 1987 with Home Federal. At Brockton High, Jorge was part of the 1992 State Championship track team and later helped lead the 4x400 relay team to a State and New England title in 1993, earning Boston Herald All-Scholastic honors. Known for his versatility, he competed in everything from the 50m to 800m, and in field events like high jump and long jump—always the team-first runner, willing to step up wherever needed.
He also played for the historic Brockton Spartan Legion Baseball team and continued his baseball journey at Roxbury Community College. Jorge's love for the game continued throughout his adult life. He co-owned and played for the Force Baseball Club, leading them to back-to-back championships, including the only Perfect Season in Boston Men's Baseball League history with a 29-0 record. He was also a proud member of several other championship teams, including the Cape Cod League, the Puerto Rico Winter Baseball Classic, and three-time champions South Shore Giants.
Jorge earned his Associate's Degree from Massasoit Community College and went on to obtain both his Real Estate and Health Insurance licenses, continuing to build a life rooted in hard work, drive, and purpose.
But more than his athletic and professional achievements, Jorge will be remembered most for his heart. He was endlessly generous, always the first to show up when someone needed a hand, and quick with a joke or one of his many legendary nicknames. His loyalty, laughter, and love left an unforgettable imprint on everyone lucky enough to know him.
One of Jorge's most cherished roles in life was being "Tío Coque" to his beloved nieces and nephew, Nyla, Isaias, and Leah. The nickname—born from a childhood mispronunciation of "Jorge"—was a special term of endearment passed down from his brother to his children. Jorge embraced it wholeheartedly, and only they were allowed to call him by that name. It was their unique bond—funny, sweet, and deeply meaningful. In their eyes, he wasn't just an uncle; he was their biggest fan, protector, and source of constant love and laughter.
Jorge is survived by his parents, Carlos Aquino and Genoveva Curet; his siblings Jose, Christian, Carlos Jr., and Zarai; and his cherished nieces and nephew, Nyla, Isaias, and Leah. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Following Cremation, Please join us in celebrating the life of Jorge "Georgie" Aquino.
We'll gather to honor his memory and reflect on the many joyful, heartfelt, and unforgettable moments we shared with him. This will be a time to come together in love, laughter, and remembrance—just the way he would've wanted.
