Jose C. Paiva Soares De Carvalho, 69, of Brockton, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of Maria Eugenia (Fernandes) De Carvalho. Born February 4, 1949 in Sao Nicolau, Tolentino, Cape Verde, he was a son of the late Antonio Soares De Carvalho and Silvestra Paiva (Ortet) De Carvalho. Jose was raised and educated in Cape Verde. He was the owner of a variety store in Cape Verde. Jose came to the United States in 2013, to Brockton where he has lived since then. Zeca enjoyed music, dancing and car racing. He loved to joke around with people. Jose enjoyed writing memories and the history of his family. He also loved taking pictures. He is survived by his wife, Maria Eugenia (Fernandes) De Carvalho; his children, Paula C. De Carvalho, Claudia F. De Carvalho, Antonio C. Carvalho and Monica E. De Carvalho and his several grandchildren. Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton, on Friday, April 27th from 4:00PM-8:00PM. Interment will take place at a later date in Cape Verde.
