Jose A. Monteiro, Jr., 79, of Brockton, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018. He was the husband of Maria de Fatima Jesus Monteiro. Born October 14, 1938 in Sao Filipe, Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of Jose Alves Monteiro and Margarida Lopes Araujo. He was a retired Police Officer in Cape Verde. He is survived by his children, Maria Teresade de Pina Monteiro, Alvaro Alves Monteiro, Alice Monteiro Veiga, Margarida Alves Monteiro, Elsa Livramento Santos Fernandes Monteiro and Claudio Madaleno Fernandes Monteiro; he is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren and 7 siblings. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Wednesday, September 12th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
