Jose "DjeDje" Santos, 80, of 112 Forest Ave. Brockton, Massachusetts passed away surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Maria Santos.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Francisco Dos Santos and Emelia Cruz Santos.

He settled in the community of Brockton, Massachusetts. He retired from Concord Foods after 19 years of service. He was a long standing communicant of St. Edith Stein Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, John Alves, 3 daughters Emelia Barros Santos (deceased), Benilde DaSilva and her husband Antonio of East Providence, and Constancia DaSilva and her husband Eugenio DaSilva of Providence, six grandchildren, Sara, Veronica, Tony, Christopher, Nicholas, and Jailyn, six great grandchildren, and two sisters, Maria Dos Santos Rodrigues, Severa Santos Aires and many nieces, nephews, godchildren and extended family. He was beloved by all.

Calling hours will be held Thursday 4pm-8pm. His funeral will be held on Friday morning at 9:30am from Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street, Brockton MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main Street, Brockton. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
