Jose Moreira Tavares Jose Moreira Tavares , 45, of Brockton, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Lydia M. Silva. Born April 25, 1966 in Praia, Cape Verde he was a son of the late Joao Moreno Tavares and Luisa Moreira. Jose came to the U.S. in 1988 to Brockton where he made his home. He worked as a supervisor for Suburban Companies of Braintree. He is survived by his wife, Lydia M. Silva, his children Melody Silva, Melanie Silva Tavares and Jamison Tavares all of Brockton; his siblings, Elizabeth Tavares of Brockton, Maria Livarmento, Luisa Cardosa, Maria Cardosa, Maria Isabel, Ze Manuel, Tone, Moses and Graceina all of Cape Verde; his cousin Crispina Ribiero of Randolph and his several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:30AM.
