Josefina (Coelho) Veiga of Brockton died at home surrounded by her family on August 3, 2023. She was 88 years old.

Daughter of the late Joao Coelho and Adelaide Dias, she was the loving wife of the late Arsenio Veiga. Josefina was the devoted mother of Agueda Fontes and her late husband Euclides, and Alice DosAnjos and her husband Carlos. Cherished grandmother of Katia Ruffin and her husband Raymond, Luis Monteiro and his companion Carla Rodrigues, and Calvin Dos Anjos. Great grandmother of Savannah Correia, Raymond "RJ" Ruffin, JR, and Seanna Monteiro.

Josefina loved to bake, spending time in her garden tending to her plants, being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a "people person" making everyone around her feel welcome and loved. Friendship was very important to her and she was loyal to everyone she knew. Family was everything and she looked forward to family trips every year.

Visitation will be held at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street, Brockton on Wednesday August 9th from 4:00-8:00 PM. Her mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West Street Brockton on Thursday August 10th at 10:30 AM followed by interment in Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl Street, Brockton.
