Obituary

Joseph E. Charles, age 75, of Brockton, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of Marie Mireille Antoine.

Born in Haiti, he was the son of the late Jovin and Lunotte Charles.

He was a principal of school district of Belladere and was also an executive officer of the State department of Education.

Joseph was a family man who was helpful, smart, very detailed, nonjudgmental, was a strong person and fighter. He was devoted his family, learning and teaching. Mr. Charles loved to read, watch the news, and always strived to continue learning.

Besides his wife Marie, he is survived by his children, Glama Charles, of Dorchester, Jean Killy Charles, of Quincy, and Mary Eve Colagene, of Quincy; his siblings, Olvane Charles, of Canada, Milouis Charles, of New York, and Vita Charles, of New York.; four grandchildren, Giovan Thomas, Giordan Thomas, Cedric Colagene, and Marsen Colagene. The family would like to give special thanks to Jacqueline Andre and Nadine Victor.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in St. Michael Church, 87 N. Main Street, Avon from 9:30am-10:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, in the Church. Interment will be in Saint Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
