Online Obituaries Joseph L. Correia, Sr., 70, of Brockton passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Manor, Brockton after a period of failing health. Born July 20, 1943 he was a son of the late Hildo Correia and Jennie (Barros) Fernandes. Joseph was raised in Duxbury by his late step-father Arthur Fernandes. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Joseph was a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. Inc., Braintree until his retirement. Freddie enjoyed life and was a very hard worker. He enjoyed laughing, being happy, golf and fishing. He is survived by his children, Noreen E. Correia, Karen L. Correia and Joseph L. Correia, Jr.; his 3 grandchildren, Micah, Cassandra and Cameron; his siblings, Sylvia Anderson, Archie Fernandes, Rita Fernandes, Arlene Lena Antone, Manny Fernandes and Pat Rivers; his aunt Louisa 'Aunt Lizzie' Pina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Theodora Fernandes-Washburn. Funeral Information A Funeral Service will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23rd at 11:30AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
