Joseph DaSilva, Sr., 87, of Brockton passed away Saturday August 7, 2021 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Antoinette (Rubicine) DaSilva.
Born July 15, 1934 in West Bridgewater, MA he was the son of the late Miguel and Maria (Mendosa) DaSilva.
Joe was a graduate of Brockton High School and received a Master's degree from Anna Maria College. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and longtime Brockton Police officer. He also worked as an electrician and was a member of Local 223.
He enjoyed all sports, travelling, collecting coins and especially spending time with his family and friends poolside.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Joe DaSilva, Jr. and wife Diane of Bridgewater, Antone DaSilva and wife Catherine L. also of Bridgewater and Darleen M. DaSilva of Mansfield and fiance Alan; grandchildren, Candee, Colby and Madison DaSilva; great grandchildren, Aiden and Layla Medas, Ava, Austin and Ace DaSilva; brother, Orlando DaSilva. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was also the brother of the late Leon, Max and Michael DaSilva.
Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton on Friday, August 13th at 9:30AM thence to St. Ann's Church, 103 No. Main St., West Bridgewater where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM.
