Obituary

Joseph R. DiNitto, age 89, of Brockton, formerly of Malden, died October 29, 2016 at Braemoor Health Center. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Erasmo and Anita (Pavia) DiNitto. Joe attended Somerville High School and had served in the Army with the Military Police during WWII. For 20 years he was employed by Serena Products, his family owned business, and also worked for the US Post Office and The Pier Restaurant in Monterey, CA. Joe was known for his generosity, strength and friendliness; was an avid fan of dog races and enjoyed cooking.

He is survived by a brother John DiNitto of New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Genaro, Thomas and Cosmo DiNitto.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 10:30-11:30 am with a funeral service at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to the DAV-Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
