Joseph "Pat" P. Hancock
Joseph "Pat" P. Hancock, 72, of Norton and formerly of Brockton died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Kristine L. (Lemaire) Hancock.
Born August 7, 1937 in Brockton, he was a son of the late Erland A. Hancock and Mildred F. (Dalton) Hancock. Raised and educated in Brockton he was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 1955. He served in the United States Navy. Pat was a supervisor for Potvin Shoe and later Stride Rite Corp. from 1957 to 1986. He went on as a supervisor for Reebok retiring in 2000.
Pat was an avid New England sports fan. He played football for the Whitman town team and coached for the Brockton Pony League and the West Side midget football team. He was a member of the Brockton Bocce Club, Polish White Eagles and the Conti Club where he spent many good times with his friend Duane Baker.
He is survived by his wife Kristine of Norton; his siblings, Erland "Andy" Hancock and his wife Doris of Hanson and Eileen Cesarini of Brockton; his sister-in-laws, Joan, Carol and Phyllis; his brother-in-law Jan and his aunt Elizabeth Mountcastle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late John D., Maurice W. "Moe", Richard F. and Martin "David" Hancock. He was also the brother-in-law of the late Richard "Dick" Cesarini.
Funeral Information
Visiting hours will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT 123) Brockton on Wednesday from 4-8PM. Interment will be private. A celebration of Pat's life will be held in the Polish White Eagles Club, 40 Emerson Ave., Brockton on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 2-6PM.
