Joseph K. Hashem Joseph K. Hashem , 68, of Brockton, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 24, 2009 at his home under the care of his family and hospice. He was the husband of Lorice (Hashem) Hashem. Born June 25, 1940 in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Keiralah Hashem and Kalthoum (Torbei) Hashem. He was the youngest of nine children. In 1967, Mr. Hashem lived in Lawrence where he worked at Bishops Restaurant in Lawrence. He then moved to Brockton in 1970 and worked at Anthonys Pier 4 in Boston. Mr. Hashem then became the owner and operator of Hashems in Brockton that was a 24 hour restaurant and Giuseppes at Salsbury Beach. For many years he also ran Hashems shish kabob Concession at Summer Fests, Brockton Fairgrounds, and other fairs in Massachusetts. Most recently he managed his sons restaurant, Giuseppes at Hampton Beach. Mr. Hashem enjoyed current events, USA and World news, history, economics in stocks and business, singing, music, and business. He was a communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church in Brockton He is survived by his wife, Lorice (Hashem) Hashem; his children, Ramona, Raymond, Steven, and Mary; his daughter-in-law, Sheila; his son-in-law, Rabih; his grandchildren, Chantelle, Katreena, Ramon, Yousef, Jacob, Kayla, and Harrison; his brother, Nassef; his sisters, Mariam, Ameeru, Mbarki, and Linda; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the brother of the late Maegead, Shufih, and Peter Hashem. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, March 30th at 9:00AM followed by The Service of the Devine Liturgy in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 No. Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM.
