Joseph U. Hill Joseph U. Hill , 75, of Brockton, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Joseph was born April 1, 1935 in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph Hill and Alice B. (Hurst)(Hill) Barboza. Joseph grew up in Brockton and later moved to California for about 2 years and relocated back to Hanson and then Brockton. He worked for M. Brown and Company and W.B. Mason from where he retired. He is survived by his son, Joseph Allyn "Tracy" Monteiro and fiance, Lorrie Mendes of Brockton; his grandchildren, Tracy Lee, Marissa, Sheres, Stephanie, Sharina, James, Joseph and Venessa Monteiro; he was a loving brother to Hubert "Roger" Hill and his wife Joyce (Harris) Hill of Brockton; he is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and his good friend, Isaiah Thompkins. He was the father of the late Gale Viola (Monteiro) Strong-Betts and step brother of the late Everette Hill. Funeral Information Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, August 20th from 10:00AM-12:00PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
