Joseph P. Niccoli, 69, of Brockton passed away peacefully in his favorite place on April 16, 2024. Joseph, fondly known as Joe, was born February 25, 1955 to Elena (Cicone) Niccoli and the late Joseph R. Niccoli of Brockton. He graduated from Xaverian High School, class of 1973 and shortly after, joined the family business, Niccoli Bros. Oil Inc. (now known as Niccoli Energy). Throughout his career, he worked alongside his father and then his son, for 52 years before retiring in 2023. After many years of non-stop, busy winters, Joe was able to enjoy a winter retired, enjoying the cold days with no set agenda.
Joe also served as the treasurer of the Boston Southeast Chapter of the Oil and Energy Service Professionals (OESP). He was a supporter of the Brockton ARC and a member of Thorny Lea Golf Club.
Joe is survived by his three children - Christina Serode and her husband Arthur of Bridgewater, Joey Niccoli and his wife Nicole of Raynham, and Anthony Niccoli and his wife Courtney of Raynham; his mother, Elena Niccoli, and his longtime, loving girlfriend Laurie Florio. He is also survived by his grandchildren - Cole, Catie, Blake, Alex, Reese, Caroline, Aria, Colton, and Mia; his sisters - Janet Niccoli, Susan Stratoti and her husband Vinny, Diane Dale and her husband Mark, and Marcia Niccoli; and his former wife Karen Niccoli. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph R. Niccoli.
A man of routine, Joe's family and friends would always know where they could find him at any point in time – at the Niccoli office, his home in Onset, Thorny Lea, Tutto Bene, Pier View Restaurant, and even the beaches in Aruba. He loved spending time with his children and their families – always stopping by for random visits to hug his grandchildren and say hello. Joe was a Patriots season ticket holder and spent many Sundays cheering along with his family and friends, tailgating in style at Luciano's.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, April 22nd from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Russell & Pica Funeral Home at 165 Belmont Street, Brockton MA. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11:00 AM also at Russell & Pica.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Joe's name to the American Heart Association.
