Joseph P. Joseph Joseph P. Joseph , 73, of Brockton, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the loving husband of 48 years of Louise G. (Christo) Joseph. Born and raised in Brockton, Joe was the first-generation Albanian-American, the son of the late Vrisidha and Paul Joseph, who came to Brockton from the old country in 1907. He was a 1953 graduate of Brockton High School, where he was a 3-sport star in basketball, baseball and football and he was voted most athletic in his class. After a short stint playing semi-pro baseball, he became enmeshed in community activities and the political and social life of Brockton. He was a Ward 3 City Counselor for 10 years and served two terms as President of the Brockton City Council. In the 1970's, he was the Chairman of Fundraising for the Boy Scouts of America. Joe left no stone unturned when it came to asking for donations for many worthy causes. Because of his endless energy, friendliness, will to do good for others, and his popularity (everyone loved Joe), fundraising was an easy task for him. His business career spanned more than 40 years. He was General Manager of the Stillman Tire Company for 23 years, and in 1983, he became the Executive Director of the Brockton Area Private Industry Council, retiring in 2000 after serving 17 years. Joe was an active member and past President of the Brockton Rotary Club, having been given the Paul Harris Award for Outstanding Service. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan. Inseparable as a couple, Joe and Louise enjoyed traveling to Florida, California, The Islands, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Louise and Joe's favorite lunch spots were George's Cafe, West Side Pub, and Freda's, they also enjoyed family outings to Foxwoods were always fun (they were lucky!). One of the things Joe enjoyed most was being a regular on Friday nights at Christo's Restaurant, where he could be seen dining, laughing, and enjoying the evening with his wife and close circle of friends. The Joseph Family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital for their excellent care and superb service.
