Langton of Brockton formerly of Somerville November 20, 2004 Joseph T. Langton, Sr. 84 years. Beloved husband of Pearl M. (Martell) Langton. Loving father of Joseph Langton, Jr.; Michael Langton and Patricia Whitcher all of Brockton and the late David Langton.
Visiting hours in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 6-9 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm. Graveside service in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Wednesday at 10 am (procession forming at 8:30 am).
Obituary
Mr. Langton died Saturday at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born and raised in Somerville a son of the late Joseph P. and Ann (Hughes) Langton. He attended Somerville schools and graduated from St. Clements High School Class of 1938. For the past 37 years he has been a resident of Brockton. During WW II Mr. Langton served in the US army in the Pacific Theater and the Guadalcanal campaign.In 1987 Mr. Langton retired from the US Postal Service where he had been a mail handler in Boston and Brockton. He enjoyed fishing and reading.
In addition to his wife of 56 years Pearl M. (Martell) Langton he is survived by two sons and a daughter Joseph Langton, Jr.; Michael Langton and Patricia Whitcher all of Brockton. He leaves 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, he was the brother of Aline Rodgers of Oregon; John Langton and Marie Carlino both of Somerville and Frances Ferris of Brockton.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews
He was the father of the late David Langton
