Obituary

Joseph Michael Oriola, age 92, of Brockton, died December 26, 2013 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Lifelong of Brockton, he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Concetta (Tironi) Oriola. Mike was a graduate of Brockton High School and had been employed as a salesman at Atherton’s Furniture and retired from the Brockton School Department after many years at the Raymond and Arnone schools. Mike was a dedicated, devoted and compassionate son, brother and uncle. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick Church, enjoyed time with family and traveling throughout the United States.

Mike is survived by six nephews: Vincent Raspa, Joseph Oriola, Louis Oriola, Jr., Ralph Oriola, Alexander Oriola and James Oriola; many great nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was the brother of the late Clara Raspa, Louis Oriola, Frank Oriola, Grace Marie Lally and Marie Rollins; uncle of the late Mary Dupuy, June Horsman, and Anthony Lally, and longtime companion of the late Constance Jones.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 9-10am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Mike’s name to St. Patrick Church, 335 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
