Joseph P. Sica
, 78, of Brockton, died peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at his home, with his wife Susan (McHugh) Sica by his side, following a courageous battle with Lymphoma.
Born July 25, 1931 in Somerville and raised in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Domenic Sica and Mary (Spadea) Sica.
Joe retired from the Federal Trade Commission where he worked for many years as an investigator. He served proudly in the United States Navy in the Korean War.
Joe was an avid golfer and was a member of D.W. Fields Golf Course for over 35 years. He was devoted to his family.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughters; Marie Mailey and her husband Robert of Wilmington and Christina Hemingway and her husband Peter of Westford; his grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Robert and Amanda Mailey, Lauren and Jeremy Hemingway; his brother, Dominic M. Sica and his wife Nicole of Northridge, California; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Vincent J. Sica.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, January 21st at 8:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:15AM. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Thursday 4:00-8:00PM.
