Josephine (Kennedy) Coleman, 82, of Brockton, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Herbert Coleman. Born May 17, 1937 in Blythewood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt Kennedy and Thelma (Williams) Kennedy. Raised in South Carolina she graduated from Bethel High School in 1955 and then Chamberlain Junior College. She worked for the State of Massachusetts for 10 years and also for Brockton Department of Welfare. She is survived by her children, Cindy A. Silva, Donna M. Coleman, Carlton M. Coleman, Deirdre L. Coleman, Jennifer S. Coleman and Troy V. Coleman; her siblings, Rosa B. Kennedy, Ernest Kennedy, James C. Kennedy, Larry D. Kennedy and Calvin Kennedy; she is also survived by several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Isaac Kennedy and Bernice Bradshaw. Calling hours in Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton on Wednesday, March 4th from 10:00-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the church at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
