, 86, of Brockton passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Blue Hill Alzheimer's Care Center, Stoughton after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Raul Rodrigues Monteiro.
Born May 20, 1925 in Fogo, Cape Verde she was a daughter of the late Salvador Silva and Antonia Jesus DePina. Raised in Cape Verde, Josselinda came to the U.S. in 1979 to Brockton where she made her home. She enjoyed gardening, music, dancing and sewing. She was a happy person who loved her family.
She is survived by her children, Catarina Rodrigues of Cape Verde, Antonio Monteiro of Stoughton, Jose Monteiro of Cape Verde, Deolinda Monteiro of Brockton and Joao Monteiro of Stoughton; her grandchildren, Luis, Lucia, Janice, Denny, Raul, Dulcelinda, Americo, Jose, Zelito, Cleber, Cerino, Antonio, Foster, Adriana, Carlos, Evandro and Marcos; her great-grandchildren, Serena, Isiah, Zion, Tiana, Luisa, Zefania and Lilianna; her siblings, Angelica, Ilda and Armando. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Idalina, Joao and Ildo.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday at 11:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Calling hours Wednesday 5:00-9:00PM.
