Obituary

Joy L. (Anderson) Hohengasser, 65, of West Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after an unexpected illness. She was the loving wife of Ernest J. Hohengasser for 43 years. Born May 3, 1954, in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Dale C. Anderson and Ingrid L. (Johnson) Anderson. Raised in Brockton, she graduated from Brockton High School in 1972 and then attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She was an incredible woman who went by the name Joy, Mom, Grammy and Friend. She enjoyed being in the background, busy taking care of others, ministering from her home and at The Fellowship. She loved well. She gave above and beyond. She listened well. She invested in others, pouring into their lives as if each person was her mother, brother, sister, son or daughter. She loved giving gifts. She took forever to choose just the right card to send. And she loved coffee. But most importantly she loved and still loves Jesus and she leaves a legacy of faith and hope...that one day God will make all things new, and those found in Jesus will stand next to her one day in life praising the Lord and Savior. She is survived by her devout husband Ernest J. Hohengasser; her loving children, Jill A. McDaniel and her husband Patrick of France, Erik J. Hohengasser and his wife Laura of West Bridgewater and Jennifer L. Anderson and her husband Chris of West Bridgewater; her adored grandchildren, Theodore, Adrianna, Zachary, Avery, Adison, Andrew, Hannah, Joshua, Caleb, Sarah, Leah, and Daniel; her sister, Karen Ovalle; and by many other dearly loved family members. She was the sister of the late Cheryl Anderson and Dale A. Anderson, Jr. Calling hours are at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt 28) West Bridgewater on Friday from 4:00-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the church to which she belonged at 10:00AM at The Fellowship, 604 Foundry St., Easton. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the missions program of her church, The Fellowship. The Fellowship, PO Box 321, Easton, MA 02334.
