Joyce (Harris) Velez-Barrows Joyce "Joy" (Harris) Velez-Barrows, 49, of Falmouth, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 in Falmouth Born January 11, 1962 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the Richard Harris, Sr. of Bridgewater and Carol (Costa) Harris Leedom of Bourne. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a graduated of Brockton High School and attended Massasoit Community College1. Joy enjoyed cooking, crafts, art and collecting assorted Angels. She has been a resident of Falmouth for the last 10 years. Joy had open arms for everyone with her compassionate heart and her youthful personality. She is survived by her children, Tarsha Rose, Daniel Velez, Kayla Velez and Tyler Velez; her foster son, Rakeem Barrows; she is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was the sister of the late Richard Harris, Jr. Funeral Information Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, February 19th from 11:00PM - 1:00PM followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 1:00PM. Private cremation will follow.
