Judith Marie (Mandeville) Cruz, 77, of Brockton, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 surrounded by her family at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Steven E. Cruz, Sr.
Born January 5, 1939 in Brockton, MA she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Mandeville and Mary (Morency) Mandeville. Raised and educated in Brockton, Judith was a graduate of Brockton High School and also Stonehill College where she received her Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts.
Judith worked for Stonehill College as a receptionist. She also worked as a bank teller and a teachers aid for the Brockton Schools. Judith enjoyed bowling and her water aerobics at the Easton YMCA. She was a member of a choral group and was an avid reader who enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton as well as the Chapel of Mary at Stonehill. She was also a member at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn M. Yurkins and her husband Walter Yurkins, Jr. of Brockton, Susan Cruz of Brockton and Steven E. Cruz, Jr. of Florida; her siblings, Lawrence Mandeville, Jr., Lorraine Barnes, Barbara Moore and Shirley Cowden; her nephew, William Cummings and his wife Arlene. She is also survived by her several nieces and nephews.
