Julie Ann (Green) Mack, age 39, of Bridgewater, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 surrounded by her family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer, a disease she fought heroically and with grace four separate times over the past 25 years.
She is survived by her husband Jonathan K. Mack and daughter Abigail Victoria Mack; her parents Charles E. and Diane L. (Aker) Green of Carver; her brother, Michael P. Green and his wife Elise of Newburyport; her sister, Erin K. (Green) Andrews and her husband Scott of Bridgewater; her niece, Madeline and nephews Dillon and Jaxon; her father and mother-in-law, Raymond A. Mack of West Bridgewater and Carolyn K. Mack of Peabody and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dance students and their families.
Julie was first diagnosed with cancer on her 14th birthday. Over the course of her treatment, she became an integral member of the Dana Farber Jimmy Fund family. In 1990, Julie was selected to present a gift to President Ronald Reagan on behalf of the Jimmy Fund.
Julie attended Carver High School, class of 1992, and the College of the Holy Cross, class of 1996, where she earned degrees in Biology and Dance. After graduation, she pursued both of these interests, working as a research Scientist for Bayer and later Wyeth and as a performer on the Spirit of Boston Cruise Ship. During these years, Julie also participated in, and choreographed for, numerous collegiate and community theater productions and dance competitions - for which she received many awards.
Julies devotion to the art of dance began at age 2 and continued throughout her life. Her early training at the Sherry Gold Dance Studio in Middleboro and Brockton, where she won many national awards as a member of the competition team, and at Kathy Medinas Studio in Rochester, a studio she later worked for, developed into a passionate career.
After marrying her husband Jonathan and having her daughter Abigail, she moved from Tewksbury to Bridgewater, and realized her dream of owning her own dance studio. In 2005, Julie opened her first Julies Studio of Dance location at the old Joppa Grille in East Bridgewater. The studios tremendous success led to the opening of a second studio in Bridgewater and ultimately to the recent purchase of a permanent home on Keenan St. in West Bridgewater. Through her studio, Julie positively and immeasurably impacted countless lives - of students both young and old. She thrived on sharing her passion for dance - and for life - with her students. Julies Studio of Dance has become a part of the larger communitys fabric and will ensure her a rich and immortal legacy.
Julies other great joys included traveling, especially to Disney World and spending time with her family.
