Obituary

Katharine C. Tamule Katharine C. Tamule , 100, died peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2015. She was the wife of the late Leonard Tamule. Born and raised in Northampton, MA she was the daughter of the late Sidonia (Ruder) and Edward A. Barrett and the sister of the late Edward L. Barrett. She graduated from Smith College and the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. During World War II she served as an Army nurse with the Sixth General Hospital in North Africa and Europe and was discharged a Captain. She retired after 21 years from the Brockton/West Roxbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and belonged to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and VFW 1046. A devout Catholic, Katharine was a communicant of St. Edith Stein/ St. Edward Parish. She loved gardening, music and animals. Katharine is survived by her loving children, Leonard Tamule and his wife Rima of Brockton, Harry Tamule of Lincoln, RI., Sidonia Dalby and her husband Frederick of Northampton, MA and Mary Devin and her husband William of Brockton; her seven grandchildren, Aistis Podziukas, Leonard B. Tamule, Elizabeth Dalby, Christina Dalby, Katharine Devin Holcolmbe, Jacqueline Devin ODonnell and Caroline Devin; her 2 great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 22nd at 9:30AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Tuesday from 3:00PM 7:00PM.
