Online Obituaries Kathleen P. (Trombly) Gay, 70, of Brockton, entered eternal rest surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 23rd 2013 after an extraordinarily courageous battle with cancer. For 45 years Kathy was the beloved wife of William K. Gay of Brockton. She was also the loving mother of Kristin M. (Gay) Lightbody and her husband Eric Lightbody of Walpole, Jennifer M. Gay Smith and her husband Neil Smith of Hingham, William P. Gay of Brockton, Kathleen Meaghan Gay and her husband David DeLuca of Alexandria, Virginia and Timothy R. Gay and his wife Danielle Petrucci of Beverly. Devoted Gramma to Catherine and Abigail Lightbody and Elinor, Audrey and Henry Smith. Daughter of the late Arthur Raymond Trombly and Catherine Alice (Moore) Trombly. She is also survived by many beloved brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. More than anything else, Kathy was devoted to her faith, family and friends. She was educated at Archbishop Williams High School and Northeastern University. Kathy was a dedicated Verizon employee for 35 years. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes church for 43 years. She enjoyed spending time in the garden, hosting holiday gatherings and most of all being with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Catholic Daughters and a committed volunteer for My Brother's Keeper. The Gay Family would like to warmly thank all of Kathy's fabulous caregivers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, especially Chiara Battelli, M.D., Michael Goldstein, M.D., Mark Callery, M.D., Anand Mahadevan, M.D. and Paddy Connelly, R.N. for their untiring support, kindness, prayers and friendship throughout Kathy's fight against cancer. Warm thanks are also extended to the caregivers at the Tippett House in Needham for their care and kindness to Kathy and her family. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, July 27th at 9:30AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:30AM.
