Kathryn "Kay" Conroy, of Wareham, and Brockton, passed away Monday, June 26th, 2023, surrounded in love by her children.

Born in Boston on March 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William A. Whelan and Margaret (Cahill) Whelan. She was the beloved niece of Kathryn (Cahill) Powers.

Kay started her career at John Hancock, where she worked until she had children. From that point on, she spent her time raising and caring for her family.

She and Buzz were married 54 years. They spent 40 years living in Brockton. They made lifelong friends on Anawan Street and at Sacred Heart School/church. They spent their summers at Maple Park with family and dear friends, "The Cluster".

Kay loved a good book, a golf course and a glass of wine. More so, she loved her children, grandchildren and husband. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Buzz" Conroy. Kay is survived by her children Carolyn Conroy (Steve), Claire Conroy, and Scott Conroy (Traci), her grandchildren Charlye and Chase, her sister in law Nancy Conroy, her brothers Richard Whelan (Cindi Silvestrucci), and W. Paul Whelan; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., West Bridgewater on Thursday, June 29th from 11:00AM-2:00PM. A celebration of life will be held immediately after.

Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Friday, June 30th at 1:30 PM.
