Obituary

Kimberly J. (O'Connor) Barrett, 57, of East Bridgewater passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Monday, December 28, 2020 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Thomas K. Barrett. Born on December 16, 1963 in Brockton, she was the daughter of Suzanne (Paul) O'Connor and the late John O'Connor. A Brockton High School graduate in 1982, she also graduated from Southeastern Tech in 1986 receiving her LPN; Brockton Hospital School of Nursing in 1994 receiving her RN; Curry College in 2006 for her bachelor's degree in nursing and from UMASS in 2008 with her master's degree in nursing. Kimberly began working at Goddard Medical (Signature Healthcare) in 1986 and worked there until 2017, when she stopped due to illness. In addition to her husband Thomas and her mother Suzanne, Kimberly is survived by her children Thomas K. Barrett, Jr., Nicholas J. Barrett and Samuel J. Barrett; her siblings Matthew O'Connor, Stacy O'Connor and her husband Tim Howard, and Cindi-Lu Vanderstreet and her husband Steven; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Adam J. O'Connor and Barry C. Reavis. For those that knew Kim, she led her life to the fullest. Always persevering despite many health obstacles along the way. If there's one thing to learn from Kim's amazing journey, it's to never quit and to never give up on life. Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt.28) West Bridgewater on Sunday, January 3rd from 2:00-6:00PM with COVID-19 restrictions. A Private Family Funeral Service was held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home followed by interment in Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers or donations the family is currently in the process of establishing a future scholarship fund for first-year nursing students. Upon it's completion, donations will be gladly accepted. All visitors must wear a MASK in the funeral home and on the funeral home property. All visitors will be advised by Funeral Home Staff on what Building Entrance to Use. All visitors will then follow SAFE DISTANCING MARKINGS that will guide to the Casket/Urn. All visitors may pause at Casket/Urn and then EXIT the Funeral Home. All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter. All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
