Kimeta "Kim" (Bogucanin) Peterson, 71, passed away peacefully, October 24, 2022 after a brief illness.
Born in Linz Austria, she was the daughter of the late Maho & Maria Bogucanin. She and her parents, migrated to the US in 1952, and resided in Boston for a few years. Later moving to Brockton, she graduated BHS in 1968, and remained a lifelong Brockton resident.
Kim met and married the love of her life, Peter Peterson. He was her devoted husband, partner and best friend for over 54 years. Together they raised their two adoring children, Suzzanne and Peter, Jr.
She had been employed by Dr. Greenfield Pediatrics, Hit or Miss, and lastly, Mercier Inc., from which she retired as a Systems Operations Manager.
Kim had a creative mind, finding the beauty in life's wondrous gifts. She enjoyed decorating, arts and crafts, needlepoint, gardening, reading, vacationing with family in Virginia, and mostly, time shared with family and friends. Her kind thoughtfulness and generous nature will surely be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Peterson, of Brockton, her son, Peter, Jr. and his wife Joanne (Lavertu) Peterson, also of Brockton. Her grandchildren, Caitlyn (Peterson,) and her husband Mr. Arauz, Christopher, and his wife Natalia Peterson, Makaylah Peterson, Megan Johnson and Timothy Johnson, Jr. Her sisters, Zineta Shippee & Fatima Lovell. Her nieces, Susan Doyle, Mary Schools, Judy Williams, Leeanne Burke-Bender, Dianne Shippee and her nephew, Michael Shippee. Dear friends, Earle Lovell, Jr, Patricia Galligan and many others. Special family member and companion, granddog Zeus Peterson.
Kim was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Suzzanne (Peterson) Johnson and sister-in-law Judith Spellman.
Family and friends are invited to share in a memorial service to be held at Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton MA 02301, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, 3-5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, www.t2t.org or a charitable organization of your choice.
