Online Obituaries Kosmas Karalolos, 90, of Brockton, died peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted and loving husband of Vasiliki (Stergiopoulos) Karalolos to whom he was married for 63 years. Born on November 30, 1925 in Pentalofos, Greece, Kosmas was the son of the late Georgios and Evmorfia (Goutas) Karalolos. He grew up in Axiokastro, Greece and worked as a stonemason in Greece and Germany. In 1973, he immigrated to Brockton with his wife and two children. There, he worked at the Foot-Joy Shoe Factory for over 20 years. After retiring, his passion was tending to his garden, where he spent endless hours. He loved spending time with his grandchildren Elias Sanopoulos and his wife Eleni of Brooklyn NY; Cosmo, Steve and Victor Karalolos of Peabody; and his great grandchildren Evmorfia and Vasiliki Sanopoulos. He also enjoyed listening and dancing to Greek music immensely as well as socializing with friends at the local cafeteria. He greeted friends and strangers alike with a warm smile and a firm handshake. He was a devout Greek Orthodox Christian and lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton; his faith was a source of great comfort and inspiration. Kosmas was the loving father of Evmorfia Sanopoulos of Astoria, NY and her husband Konstantinos; Evangelos Karalolos of Peabody, MA and his wife Kathy; he was the brother of Panagiota Papadopoulos of Bethlehem, PA and Sotirios Karalolos of Nuremberg, Germany. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins in the United States, Greece, Germany, and Australia. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, January 8th at 10:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home Thursday 4:00-8:00PM.
